Among UM’s priorities when spring football opens next week: Gain clarity at backup quarterback: With Jacory Harris sidelined after thumb surgery, UM will share snaps among A.J. Highsmith, early enrollee Stephen Morris and Spencer Whipple. Coaches like Highsmith’s athleticism and believe his arm is strong enough. But he eventually could end up as a defensive back if Morris surpasses him.
